“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.”

Thursday's Adventures

To finish our Thursday...
First off... our hotel is on the only Korean street in the whole city of NY! Out side of our first room's window(yes we have had two rooms so far...I will get to that in a minute), we had a lovely view into another buildings window of what we swear is a sweat shop...I swear, it really looked like it!
We had a blast walking around Time's Square and ate at this little pizza place...the pizza was awesome! Watching the people was incredible! The tourists to the guys on the side of the street wanting to sale you things, they were all so fun to watch! We walked on and on forever, going in and out of shops! We ended up over by the Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall!
We went inside Rockefeller Center and as we were walking down the hall I heard this guy say that Hugh Jackman just walked through the door. Alex and I turned around and all of the sudden there he was, and bumped right into Alex's shoulder!
Poor guy, he couldn't even walk into the NBC studio, he was completely surrounded...an accidental shoulder bumping was good enough for us though!!!
Our next adventure was long after Alex started snoring! While sitting on the bed trying to blog, I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I stopped looked over and there is a little brown mouse looking at me...on the 9th floor, Ahhhhhhhh! I panicked of course, do I wake up Alex, can't call Tad, he is at school, called mom, who talked me into having enough courage to get off the bed and over to the phone. See the problem is, this isn't a little Smithfield field mouse, this is a yucky, dirty new york mouse...I was not going to sleep at all. They of course told me they would change our room...but now the hard part...waking Alex up. He was not amused, all though he did think that I was joking. He then proceeded to confuse these girls in the elevator talking about mice and how they better watch out. I think he was still half asleep and I am pretty sure they didn't speak English. There better not be any mice up on the 12th floor!

Forget a' bought it!

Hello from New York City!!!
How do I begin? I guess I will start from the wave goodbye. My sweet husband had spent the day mapping out every subway line we would need to take while we were here and then putting a detailed itinerary together for him and the kids and now he was ready to take over the reigns! They all stood in the garage, after a lot of hugs and kisses and me trying to hold back the flood of tears that was about to explode. Livia and Trey finally realized what was actually happening and while Tad tried to get them all to do the booty dance to send mom off, picture it now, Trey and Livia with huge tears and scrunched up faces shaking their bums and waving madly! So cute! I cried until I was to the canyon...and then started laughing hysterically at Livia's comment at dinner before I left....
Livia: "How come mom is going on a vacation without all of us?"
Tad: "Well sometimes mom's need breaks from little Kiddos."
Livia: (without a second of hesitation) "Well sometimes mommies need breaks from Daddy's too."

So now here I am...New York, New York!

Alex and I got here at about three o'clock and the adventures began! We went out to get a cab and the next thing we knew we had a cabbie grabbing Alex's bag and telling him to follow him. We asked if he was a cab and if it was the 45 dollars flat rate, he said "ya, ya". But before we knew it, he was leading us to a SUV. I thought...we are here for 5 minutes and we are already getting picked up by a guy who is going to take us down to the meat packing district and take all of our money and valuables...you gotta be kidding me! Don't worry though.... we asked for his id and cab license...he was legit! Nice guy too, talked to us all the way to our hotel, pointing out his favorite city landmarks...the 99 cent store!

After getting into our hotel, we headed down to Times Square. It was only a few blocks from our hotel, so we decided to walk and see all of the stores along the way!
Ok...I am going to post pictures now and finish the story later...off to the empire state building!

Fabulous Fridays!

Today truly is a Fab Friday! The babysitter is going to be here at five and although we are down two people (hope you get feeling better Rory), date night is just two hours away!!! I have been playing with the kids all day! We made more heart birdseed feeders (I will post pix and instructions tomorrow!) and played all of the games in our game closet! Tad came to my rescue today! Besides having to go down to work out, I didn't leave the house at all! Tad took Aurianna to school and volunteered for a few hours and then he just left to pick her up!!! But my most Fabulously Favorite thing that happened today...I got David Letterman tickets!

When I registered online it said that I was going to have to answer a trivia question...I am not a big time Letterman watcher, so I was a little worried. I told Tad that the only question that I could answer is that Paul is the band leader. Guess what question they asked me..."Who is Paul Shaffer?" How about that luck!!! Happy Birthday Alex!!! So Next Monday the 16th set the TiVo (cause truly, who stays up to watch Letterman)!
I have a ton more to post...Trey turned three this last week! But I have to run now and get ready for my HOT date!
