“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.”

Carnivals, pumpkin patches & Jedi's OH MY!

Why don't I ever remember Pre-Halloween ever being this busy. I honestly thought that we weren't going to make it through the week. But we didn't want to miss a second of all the fun that was going on!
We have the greatest Pumpkin Patch that we go to every year. This year, while we had our nieces up for the weekend, we took them out and let everyone hunt for the perfect pumpkin! We went early enough this year that the kids got to pick apples too! They thought this was amazing that they could pick the apples straight from the trees and eat them!

Next came Witch's Night Out! We didn't dress up, but we are planning a major witch hat decorating party next year! We had a blast goofing off, eating caramel apples, and waiting in a horrible line for the men's bathroom in which there were only two stalls. Thanks Katie, Loretta, Jolene and Mom...can't wait until next year!

Livia and Trey went to the Pumpkin Walk for their school field trip this month...another great Logan tradition! They had a blast with all of their friends and trying to find the M & M's in all of the scenes! The theme this year was TV Commercials! Our favorite was the Band Aid scene with a little boy going to the bathroom and the PC and MAC! Thanks Miss Holly for such fun memories!

The pumpkin walk is Tad and Aurianna's favorite Halloween tradition, so we of course had to take them back the next night! We went at night so we could see everything glow!!!

We brought these fun treats to the Anderson's annual "Spudnuck" party! They were a blast to make, and pretty tasty too!

Tuesday night we stuck in there Aurianna's last basketball game! She was awesome this year and had the greatest coach!
Then we headed straight over to our ward Halloween party! I couldn't get the kids to leave! Our YW and YM do such a great job every year! Thanks guys!

Next came the Aggies Blue and White game! This is the kids favorite game of the season every year! We get to watch the aggies play each other and then there is always fun games and prizes! The best part comes at the end when the players line up at a table and the kids get to go through and have posters signed! I think Dad and Aarron enjoyed it even more than the kids...they get all gitty talking about what a great season it is going to be!!!

Class parties and carving pumpkins came next! Although the pumpkins almost didn't happen this year! Thank heavens for daddy who carved them all while the kids made the designs and then watched Charlie Brown Halloween show (I can't remember what it is called!). And me...I am not trusted with knives right now...so I stuck to cleaning the seeds! The kids all had fun class parties this year! Lots of goodies and crafts to make the day special!!!

So finally we made it to Halloween. (We also had another basketball game, a birthday party and a baptism stuck in between!). On Halloween morning I said to Trey, "Are you ready to get your Jedi Night costume on?" He replied, "Again?". I had to laugh as I explained to him that today was the real deal...the big prize, where all the candy came from...he honestly really didn't care until that night of course! We had a blast trick or treating on main street, and then heading over to our ward trunk or treat! By that point the kids were really into it...wanting to head around the other neighborhoods...it was mom and dad who finally pooped out and brought everyone home! But I think that our witch, rock star and Jedi Night all had a blast!

Happy Birthday my big 5 year old!

My sweet little Livia turned five! She decided on another princess party, for the third year in a row...yes she is definatley a princess!!! This year we made it a Sleeping Beauty party! The cake was a blast to make and super easy (last year I made a castle...it took me three hours, ouch!)!!! I had fun shopping for new decorations this year too and found this cool castle background! Livia loved helping make the invitations! We took Burger King crowns and spray painted them pink and added glitter! I put all of the information on the inside of the crown! She loved handing them out to her friends! There is a picture of one on Tads head a few pictures down!

All of her adorable princess friends showed up looking beautiful! (Livia changed her mind last minute and wore her dance costume instead of her sleeping beauty costume, mind of her own!) They colored their placemats and made sparkling necklaces...had to have the bling!!! Trey even got in on the action...one day he is going to love these parties!!! I tried to talk him into being Prince Phillip, but he just wouldn't go for it!

Next we went downstairs for games! I made a spinning wheel and attached it to a popsicle stick. I was the evil witch and chased the girls around. If they pricked their fingers, they had to fall to the ground and pretend to be asleep. Then Prince Phillip (Tad) came around and gave them kisses (sprinkled Hershey Kisses) to wake them up! Then we played Sleep Dance. I played music and when I paused it they had to freeze sleep where they stood!

Then it was pinata time!!! And of course cake and ice cream! We had such a fun day! Thanks to the Grandma's and Cousin Lily for coming up! Livia asked if she could do the same thing for her "real" birthday party (on Sunday the 5th). I think one princess party a weekend is plenty...she would do this everyday if she could!!! Happy Birthday Livia...we love you our little Princess!
